Warrant - Cherry Pie
Whew. If they hadn't strategically placed that falling piece of cherry pie, the subtlety of this double entendre might have been lost on me.
(For those of you who don't get it, "Cherry Pie" isn't just referring to a dessert; it's a play on words that refers to the waitress' private girl parts. Because Jani and the gang are always on the right side of that fine line between clever and stupid, "cherry" not only refers to the waitress' hair color, but also to the fact that her "cherry" -- or her virginity -- is about to be "popped." Do you see how a bit of red cherry juice is squirting out of the pie? That's called symbolism. It represents the blood that will be released when the Down Boys break that pretty lady's hymen. Those guys in Warrant are some big thinkers. We should be thankful that they contributed such a fine piece of art to the world. It's like the Mona Lisa, but sexier. And we all know that there's nothing wrong with being sexy.)

You know, Warrant really had an opportunity to go WAY hotter with this cover. They could have remained subtle but they kept it more mellow than the video for the title song.
Gross.
The really bad thing is that I am not sure any of their other covers are a whole lot better. What's even worse is that the covers are better than the music.
I liked the commentary more than I liked the cover and especially the music, though it's easier to stomach than puke-churning first album....heaving isn't too far away...
I agree with Ray and Mark. The albums really aren't any good. Somehow they always seemed like they attracted girls to their music, even though they tried to be big bad tough guys.
I love the sarcasm in this post.
Great post. I heard Jani Lane recently say that he regrets ever writing the title track because it's all the band is known for among thhe general public anymore.
Boo hoo hoo, Jani. I'm sure you hated the extra $1 million you got because it was so popular. Easy to whine about it now ...

Hey, finally Jani Lane and I have something in common: we both regret that he wrote that stupid, stupid song.
Ha! Cherry Pie is my friend Jimmy's favourite song. LOL.
I was going to say disparaging things about your friend Jimmy, but then I read his post about Matt Damon. Jimmy's pretty funny.
i really love your sarcasm.
who cares how lame or bad their album covers were the band was very talented and we all are mourning the death of a friend and fellow musician who along with Amy nad Kevin Dubrow were takin from us way too early.........R.I.P Jani Lane time to go to where the DownBoys go!!!
anonymous-The music is even worse than the album cover. It is sad for anyone to go at age 47 because that is way too young. However Jani Lane just wasn't that good of a singer or a songwriter.
I was told that this album was recalled because of the back cover. But I can't find anything on the internet about that. Any thoughts?
