Metal Massacre
Here is the first of Metal Blade's long running Metal Massacre compilation series. This one featured Metallica, Ratt, Cirith Ungol, Malice and others. As for covers many of the later releases would have drawings of the grim reaperthat varied from decent down to horrible. This cover is basic and perhaps nothing special, but I always spend a few second looking at everytime it crosses my path.

It's probably shocking (or not), but I actually have III through VI and VIII and IX in this series. Did it go beyond IX or did they realize that they ran out of cover concepts with that one and stop?
They have done 13. Number 12 was in 1995. That seemed to be it for a while, but number 13 came out in 2006.
