Bad Brains - s/t
Only an album cover this incendiary could come close to preparing you for the energy the Bad Brains released upon the world with their debut album.
The advent of digital music may be making the album cover seem quaint, but some of us still believe in the full package. For better or for worse, here are the good, the bad and the ugly...

Funny. I never knew that "incendiary" and "cheesy" were synonyms.
Nothing against Bad Brains or anything. That's just one bigass lightning bolt. I mean, that thing is HUGE. It is to the Capitol what Sarah Jessica Parker's head is to her body. We're talking gi-fucking-normous.
I totally would've drawn this on my high school notebooks, if those kickass Marillion logos hadn't taken up so much room.
I remember the album as being very good, but the cover is just alright.
I think the big lightning bolt is a big part of what makes this so cool. It isn't some post-apocalyptic world portrayed here. It's the here and now. The lightning is the natural reaction to American politics and society. Considering the Bad Brains religious convictions, it's likely the Justice of God striking the Capitol. It may not be great art on its own, but coupled with the Bad Brains' music, it really is incendiary.
I'm siding with Bob on this one. I have this as a t-shirt and I always took it to represent their parting shot to a city that didn't want them before they left for NYC. It's a classic, my opinion.
